For a while now, I’ve been watching my hair turn darker and darker. I think it’s inevitable that I will have true brown hair within the next couple of years since both of my parents went from blondes to brunettes as they grew older. However, I’m a blonde at heart, so I thought it would be fun to have some summer highlights at least once more (reminiscent of a couple of times in college). I talked about going to the salon, but then Mom and I walked through the do-it-yourself hair dye section in Wal-Mart. I couldn’t very well pass up a chance to spend $6 instead of $60, so I bought a dye kit and made my mom promise to help me.
Today we spent about an hour pulling hair through a little cap…
…and coating the hair strands in (blue!–that made us a bit nervous) gel.
There were a few moments of apprehension when we thought we had left the dye in too long, but all turned out well in the end. Not bad for a home remedy!
Looks beautiful to me! I love your curls. I have curly hair too and keep it a bit longer than yours…you hair makes me want to take the plunge and try short curls, though!!
I agree that you look fabulous! You are such a beautiful spirit and person anyway – blonde or brunette. I miss you, my friend.
Thank you, Paula! I miss you!! How is life post-LCA? What are you up to these days?
