We’re Moving!

Charles and I have some big news to share: At the end of this school year, we are moving back to the U.S.A. We don’t know exactly where we’ll be moving or what we’ll be doing, but we hope to at least be on the east coast near family (potentially in South Carolina near Charles’ folks).

We LOVE Taiwan and Morrison Academy, and we are sad to be leaving them. We will miss all of our friends who have become like family here. We will miss the students and the ministry. We will miss the delicious food and the convenience of city living. We will miss the unique culture and diversity of Taiwan. We will miss the friendly Taiwanese people who help us and show us love in every way possible. We will miss our home and our church. We will miss cheap shopping and “everything stores” and inexpensive healthcare and 7-11’s. And much, much more.

BUT we are also looking forward to what lies ahead. We are excited about settling down in one country for a while and being closer to family. We can’t wait for blue skies and green grass and big trees and open space. We are excited about reconnecting with old friends. We are looking forward to making new friends and finding new ministry opportunities. We are looking forward to the ease of living in our home culture, speaking a language that we’re fluent in, and being able to read street signs and product labels. And we’re looking forward to much, much, more.

I can guarantee that I will be writing A LOT more about the subject of our move as we iron out plans and details. In the meantime, please pray for us as we navigate this huge transition. Pray that God will prepare us for the changes that are to come and help us through each obstacle. Pray especially that we will cherish our final year in Taiwan.

Perhaps our move will look something like this?

  1. “Bittersweet” is the best way I can describe the transition back. There’s rarely a day when I don’t think about Taiwan in one way or another. Your perspective on the world won’t ever be the same. Love the photo!
