Not Teaching–Now What?

I’m not teaching this year (except for some tutoring and substituting), and though I’ve always enjoyed teaching, I’m actually not missing it that much. *Gasp* Is it even okay to admit that?! Honestly, I’m thankful for rest and a very flexible schedule, and I’m blessed because God has provided enough financially for my husband and me from just Charles’ salary and my little bits of supplemental income. I am also grateful that I can actually recognize the healing happening in my life after over a-year-and-a-half of relatively severe anxiety and depression. For those of you who have been following my journey, I am doing much better. A Surprising Friendship

Preface

I have been trying to write this post for months. Because I care so much about the story, I want the post to be perfect. Because I want perfection, it’s very difficult to write. I think I’ve finally settled for less-than-perfect-but-at-least-published. I hope you’ll catch a glimpse of my heart as you read.

Painting of a Puppy

I have two dear friends who attended Asbury with me and were married just after they graduated.  They have remained close friends of mine throughout the years, and I am blessed to spend time with them about once a year.  I guess we are on a similar life schedule because they got a little Shih tzu puppy named Jake just a bit before I got Emi (almost exactly two years ago, by the way–wow, time flies!).
