We’ve finally made it to the end of the school year–my sixth year teaching–and that’s hard for me to believe! I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and reflecting, and just as soon as I have time to catch my breath when I’m back in the States, I’ll take some time to write about the good, the bad, and the ugly of this year. In the meantime, here’s a little video (perhaps the bad or the ugly?! haha) of the MAK teachers dancing to “Friday” by Rebecca Black (a song that leaves a lot to be desired but is nevertheless a favorite of the students). We performed this at the 9th grade graduation dinner on Thursday night and then again at the school-wide awards ceremony on Friday morning (appropriate timing, I’d say). As my sister said, this is what teachers do: make fools of ourselves on stage in front of all of our students and their parents. But hey, it’s one of the best parts of the job.
